I'm so excited to share with you some incredible insights from my recent experience with the Barbie movie. Yes, you heard that right! I went to see Barbie with my kids, and it turned out to be more than just a fun movie outing. It sparked some profound reflections on life, patriarchy, and our relationship with alcohol. 🎬✨
As I've been reading the book "Radical Awakening" and delving deeper into the work of Gabor Maté and This Naked Mind, I've noticed an incredible synchronicity of themes with the movie's powerful message about the patriarchy's impact on women. 📚🌟
In the film, America Ferrrera delivered a captivating monologue that hit home for me. It highlighted the ways women often turn to alcohol as a coping mechanism because they feel the weight of the world and the need to suppress their true selves. 💔🌍 This resonated deeply with me, and I know it will resonate with many of you too.
It's amazing how interconnected all this is. The movie, the book, the works of Gabor Maté, and This Naked Mind all align to expose the harmful effects of the patriarchy and societal norms on women. It's like the universe conspired to bring these messages to us at the right moment. 🌌🔗
I have to admit that sometimes I get frustrated when people refer to "normies" as if there is some mythical group of "normal" drinkers out there. Let's face it, no one is truly "normal," and we all have our struggles. That's why it's essential to create a safe space where we can explore these issues together. 🤗🚀
In my upcoming webinar on August 2nd, I want to address these topics head-on. We'll talk about breaking free from the cycle of judgement, negative self-talk, and the "shoulds" that weigh us down. 🗝️✨ These are the shackles that keep us trapped and prevent us from fully experiencing life and our true selves.
You see, our upbringing and society have conditioned us to fit into a particular mould, to be productive and controlled, and to suppress our authentic emotions. This suppression can lead to eating disorders, unhealthy relationships with alcohol, and negative self-image. 😔🚫
The truth is, as women, we face unique challenges and threats. I recently had a harrowing experience with a neighbour who made me feel unsafe and brought up primal fears. It's a sad reality that many women live with the constant fear of violence and judgement. 🙅♀️😥
But, my darlings, there is hope! The journey to liberation is possible. Breaking free from the trance of patriarchy and alcohol is within reach. 🦋💪 By acknowledging the reasons behind our drinking and the societal pressures we face, we can start to dismantle the armour we've built to protect ourselves.
In the webinar, I will share four powerful tools to transform judgement into something helpful and empowering. We'll work together to create a space where you can feel seen, heard, and understood. 🌈🤝
I know these conversations aren't easy, and they might not always be safe. But let's remember that first and foremost, our priority is safety—for ourselves and our loved ones. ❤️ So whether you're curious, considering moderation, or fully alcohol-free, this webinar is for you. Let's support each other on this journey of self-discovery and growth.
