Visualising how you want to feel and exactly what it will be like when you have successfully achieved your goals with alcohol whatever they might be - becoming more mindful, taking a short break or moving toward alcohol-free living - is an awesome way to support your journey.

Visualisation creates safety for our body and brain, which is vital for change as our animal body wants to keep us safe, preserve energy by staying the same.
Our brain can't distinguish between a real experience and and imagined one, so we start creating a new neural pathway in our brain by imaging the future and it being all our heart desires. This helps our brain feel more comfortable and less anxious about the journey we are planning to go on. It starts to feel like it has already been there. The more we can reassure our precious brain that we are going to something safe and wonderful, the less resistant it will be to change. It also make us much more open to our imagined future energetically.
